Long-range target shooting at Malabar
Endeavour Rifle Club is a Sydney fullbore target rifle club based at ANZAC Rifle Range on Malabar Headland.
Our members enjoy the challenge of precision shooting across long distances, where consistent technique, careful preparation and the ability to read changing wind conditions all play a part.
The club brings together developing shooters and experienced competitors in an environment built around safe shooting, good sportsmanship, continual improvement and participation in the wider target rifle community.

Fullbore target shooting combines accuracy with the challenge of changing conditions across the range.

The Malabar fullbore programme rotates through distances from 300 to 800 metres, creating different technical and wind-reading challenges throughout the season.

A club that competes
Endeavour members participate beyond regular club shooting, with representation in metropolitan, state and interstate prize meetings.
Competition provides an opportunity to test technique under pressure, learn from strong fields and continue developing as a shooter.
Recent Result
2026 MDRA Festival of Sydney
Endeavour’s Matt Shepherd finished 4th in the Target Rifle A Grand Aggregate and won a 500 metre match.

Our Home
ANZAC Rifle Range, Malabar
ANZAC Rifle Range sits on Malabar Headland and has a long association with organised target rifle shooting in New South Wales.
Heritage records note that NSW Rifle Association clubs transferred to Malabar after the Liverpool ANZAC rifle range closed in 1967, reinforcing Malabar’s role as an important home of Sydney fullbore shooting.
Endeavour’s own story appears to extend through earlier Sydney rifle organisations, including Sutherland Rifle Club and a naval rifle organisation. The exact succession is still being researched, so the club’s historical record continues to develop.
